4th Annual NCITNS Seminar

The North Carolina Chapter of International Transplant Nurses Society is pleased to announce their 4th Annual Seminar:

Evolving Issues In Solid Organ Transplant
Friday March 2nd, 2007
at The William & Ida Friday Center in Chapel Hill

This conference will provide participants with unique perspectives in the care of transplant patients, providing current clinical information and promoting successful strategies to improve patient outcomes. Participants will have the opportunity to collaborate and network with with other transplant professionals from across the state.


Program Objectives:
1. Discuss efforts to enhance donation rates and to expand the use of available organs.
2. Identify emotional stressors when caring for transplant patients.
3. Identify physiologic changes of pulmonary hypertension and their impact upon transplantation.
4. Explore the patient perspective of recovery after transplant
5. Discuss recent advances in transplant immunosuppression regimens, and implications for patient care and education.


Target Audience:
Transplant professionals including staff nurses, clinical transplant coordinators, procurement transplant coordinators, clinical pharmacists, and social workers.


5.0 Contact hours will be provided through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) and the ABTC (American Board of Transplant Coordinators).
